How to check if a crypto casino licence is real

Fake licence badges are common. Here's how to verify a licence in two minutes on the regulator's own register.

By CryptoCasinos.help Editorial Team· Published · Updated

Step 1: Find the licence number

Scroll to the casino’s footer. A real licence shows the company name, registration number and licence number.

Step 2: Search the regulator’s register yourself

Don’t click the casino’s badge — fakes link to look-alike pages. Go directly to the regulator:

RegulatorStrengthWhere to verify
UK Gambling CommissionStronggamblingcommission.gov.uk public register
Malta Gaming AuthorityStrongmga.org.mt licensee register
Curaçao Gaming AuthorityModeratecga.cw licence register
Anjouan / ComorosWeakLimited public data

Step 3: Match the details

The company name and domain must match exactly. If the casino isn’t on the register, treat it as unlicensed.

Questions people ask

Is a Curaçao licence good?

Since the 2024 reform, licences are issued directly by the Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA), which is an improvement. But player protection is still weaker than with the UKGC or MGA.

Which licences offer the strongest protection?

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) offer the strongest player protection, including independent dispute resolution. Very few crypto-only casinos hold these licences.
